Sarah has a background both in acting and casting. "Waking Stellenbosch" is her first film and was the product of her desire to document the conversations she was having with her peers while studying at Stellensbosch University.

Benedict is a lawyer and did his Master's degree at Stellenbosch University with a focus on human rights. He too became engulfed in the stories of the students and the production of the film.
